Tolhurst Organic are now fully accredited to host school groups of children of all ages.
For this, we received the CEVAS “Visit My Farm” Certificate back in February. CEVAS stands for Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme – a nationally recognised accreditation scheme that offers training for companies who are working with groups of school children, young people or clients with additional needs.
Trips to our farm enable children to connect to their environment and understand more about the food they eat.
Our educational visits can be tailored and curriculum-linked for early years and primary schools.
A visit to Tolhurst Organic enriches pupils’ learning by developing their understanding of:
– Where our food comes from
– Farming and food production in the UK
– Environmental and sustainability issues
– Healthy eating
– Wildlife and conservation
– Rural enterprise and jobs
Teaches from nearby schools will join us on Wednesday, 21 June, 5-6.30pm for a free information session to find out more about what we offer, have a look around our farm and enjoy tea and cake with other local schools.
